Why did I even start this blog?
I have a lot of reasons, actually, and let’s start with them in a consequent order.

My first source of inspiration was my Italian friend, Giulia, a travel blogger that I met in Egypt back in 2010 (www.travelreportage.com).
Shit, that was 13 years ago… I can’t believe that years are flying by.
I met her when she has started her new adventure of traveling the world, and she started the adventure from Egypt. Giulia stayed there for a very long time, and we became close friends. I always looked at her with pure admiration for what she does. And I kept on dreaming of doing the same thing. Leaving the corporate life and going for a trip around the world. I also remember I started my very first WordPress blog after deciding that I will quit the corporate life after 21 months!!! Hahahahaha. How naïve I was!!!
I always laugh when I look back at the dreams I used to have (not that I see them as stupid! No. It’s just we don’t know what life is preparing us for. And these plans can be totally different than what you are planning for).
The second reason is that I always have the feeling that I need to revisit my old dreams and fulfill them whenever I have the chance to. I don’t know why I always have this feeling!!! 🙂 Sometimes I feel like I am in a movie where the hero is about to die, and he just runs to quickly fulfill all what he wanted to do in life. Now that I am living in Germany, why not start blogging about the experiences I build along the way?
The third reason is that with what is happening in the world, the killings, earthquakes, and natural disasters that can be found everywhere, I can’t log on to Facebook anymore. I can’t be exposed all day to negative news everywhere. Yet, I have a lot to say, but I don’t feel that Facebook is the right channel anymore.
As I am getting older, I started to be less attached to the fast, uninformative news getting thrown at you all at once. I had my share of this, and it had a very negative effect on me. I started stressing out a lot, eating too much sugar (My sugar consumption spikes up whenever I feel stressed), stopped practicing sports, and sleeping time increased dramatically. So, I decided to stop this now. I deleted my Facebook and thought, “Oh, now I can start blogging and share things with the world in a slower-paced platform.” And till now, I love it…
So, these are the main three reasons why I started blogging:
- Got inspired by a friend.
- Fulfilling an old dream.
- Now is the right time.
Let me know why you are blogging already or thinking of starting a new blog.
